What is Motive wave?
A motive wave moves with the larger trend—either a standard impulse or a diagonal.
A motive wave advances the larger trend. The two motive forms are the impulse (non-overlapping five) and the diagonal (wedge with allowed overlap).
After a completed motive sequence, analysts typically expect a corrective pattern (often ABC or a complex W-X-Y). That rhythm—motive then correction—is the backbone of Elliott counts.
PipAlert Signals that cite a motive wave should still publish concrete entry, stop, and take-profits so Subscribers can size without reconstructing the full count.
