What is Breakout?
A breakout is price leaving a triangle, channel, or trendline—often used as entry confirmation.
A breakout is price leaving a well-defined range, triangle, or trend channel. Many Elliott setups wait for a break of wave D/E, a channel line, or a trendline before entry.
False breakouts are common around news. Strategy notes from experienced providers stress confirmation (close beyond the level, or a retest) over the first tick through.
On PipAlert, a breakout-style Signal should still list entry, stop beyond invalidation, and take-profits—not just "buy the break."
